Whether you are going through increased stress of a particular life circumstance, or suffering from depression or anxiety symptoms, psychotherapy can be a tremendous help. As a psychologist, my goal is to help you deepen the insight you have about yourself and assist in your development of new skills to sustain your long-term growth and wellness. My primary method of doing this is by collaborating with you to create a therapeutic relationship where you feel heard, seen and validated, and then utilizing my expertise in psychological human development, personality and human behavior to assist you in reaching your wellness goals.

While I consider myself to be a psychodynamic therapist, meaning I believe that family background, environments and cultures impact our personality development and our emotional and relational patterns, and typically use some of that information to assist in therapy, I am also trained in utilizing a variety of cognitive-behavioral techniques.  I tailor the therapy techniques I utilize to each individual’s need, based on their goals for therapy.

Areas of treatment specialization include:

  • Anxiety symptoms (worry, fear, avoidance, etc.)
  • Depression symptoms (Sadness, hopelessness, irritability, etc.)
  • Trauma-related symptoms/experiences
  • Life transitions (i.e. grief and loss, college/career transition, marriage etc.)
  • Relationship and intimacy challenges (romance, friendships, etc.)
  • Familial difficulties
  • Difficulties related to personal identity (ethnicity/race, LGBTQIA+, etc.)
  • Career or vocation challenges (including collaborating with vocation directors and/or formators when needed)
  • Treating clergy, religious, and those in religious formation
  • Medical and health concerns
