Healthy interpersonal relationships are necessary for our mental wellness and can be difficult to develop and maintain.

Increase emotional intimacy | Develop emotional regulation skills | Learn to set healthy boundaries |Change unhelpful relational patterns

While most of us agree that healthy, intimate relationships are necessary components to our wellness, we can often find ourselves in situations where our romantic partnerships or familial or other interpersonal relationships are having significant challenges. Perhaps, you are at the start of a new partnership or family transition (marriage, divorce, blending families etc.) and are looking for support and guidance to help you navigate your new journey.

Family and Couples therapy can be a helpful treatment for navigating relationship challenges and transitions. As a psychologist, my goals for relational therapy are as follows:  create an emotionally safe and validating therapeutic environment where all parties feel heard and seen;  work collaboratively to address challenges by decreasing unhelpful behaviors/reactions and patterns; decrease stress resulting from challenges or the current transition;  learn effective interpersonal skills for getting needs met and setting boundaries; learning coping skills for managing current and future relational challenges.

Areas of treatment specialization include:

  • Family therapy (whole family or subsystem)
  • Couple’s therapy (current difficulties or premarital sessions)
  • Consultation with vocation and formation directors regarding relational difficulties in diocesan or religious community life.
